Taking your kids to work is an important step in showing them nothing comes without work. Taking your kids to an all night concrete pour and having them sleep in the car is something they will remember forever.
We stayed up as much as possible to watch 2350 cubic yards of concrete pour into a foundation that seemed at the time enormous. I’d like to get a look at it to get an idea of scale. I remember all the crews and countless trucks come and go throughout the night and all of the lights shining down on the work area.
It must have been cold or at least a little chilly. My brother and I are wearing matching sweat shirts and hard hats with everyone else in the picture except my dad. Maybe he was posing for the camera and took his jacket off. I have no idea. Or, maybe he was just not cold.
Anyhow, take your kids to do real world stuff.
